Underbody work
(Go to the Original Condition entry to see what this camper looked like when we got it.)
The main work I did to start with was to raise the trailer and take off the tires, wheels, and axle and wire brush, prime, and paint them.

Working on the wheels, axle, and springs, in my garage.

Next, I had to raise the trailer high enough that I could slide underneath and wire brush the frame with a grinding tool and then prime and paint it.

Poor white trash.

This was very difficult because of the flakes and paint that would fall on me.  I went through a couple of shirts doing this.  Had to wear googles and a dust mask, which I hate because it fogs up my glasses.

Once the painting was all done I was able to reassemble the springs, axles and wheels with new tires.

Ready to roll.

I moved to over so it would be in more shade, now that I had wheels again.

 In the shade.

 New running lights.

Taped to apply clear silicone caulk evenly. New tail lights.

Andrew.

Things kind of went on the back burner for awhile.  I guess I was waiting for a sign.  That came during the winter of 2013-14.  We constructed a new steel building and made sure it would hold my camper projects.

Moved the camper into the new building.  It was dry and I had all my tools very handy.  Work began in earnest now.

Continued to tear out the inside.  Including the floor.
New floor and a lot of the wall and ceiling framework has been replaced.

Took out all the old wiring and put in all new.

This photo is a little out of order, but shows the start of putting in the new paneling.
 New insulation.
 Insulation.

Once I got the paneling up then Carol stained and varnished the paneling.  Looks good.  After that I started doing the cabinet work.

 Closet and refrigerator.

I passed.

I wanted the old refrigerator look so I got a new refrigerator from my brother that my niece had used in college and adapted the door of the old refrigerator by cutting the metal to let the new refrigerator door fit inside of it.  It was a perfect fit.
 Like a glove.

I took all the parts off the fridge door and painted it before assembly.

The cabinets are pretty much assembled and it is time to put in the linoleum.
It was a little harder than I anticipated because I over estimated and got a piece a little too big.

But all worked out in the end.
It is starting to look good :-).
Quite different from when we first got it.

More to come later.
